Fundraising
NEW: Flip Give
FlipGive is a Canadian company that provides an easy, free method of fundraising for non-profit groups. Participants shop at various online retailers and then a percentage of the spending is returned to the fundraising group. The more participation we have, the more we can raise for PLAY.
To use FlipGive, the participant creates an account, indicates which group they want to support with their shopping (PLAY account code is MSFBNW) and then visits the retailer's website via FlipGive so that the appropriate cash back is credited.
The percentage returned varies from 1-10%, depending on the retailer, which products are purchased and occasional bonus promotions. In addition to merchandise, gift cards are also available for purchase. Some of the big retailers are Amazon, Walmart, Indigo, Home Depot, Rona and Apple (here is the full list).
We are very excited about this new program and hope you will sign up: Flip Give Sign Up.
Mabel’s Labels
We have partnered with Mabel’s Labels to do some fundraising and give parents an opportunity to get some handy labels for tagging their kids' stuff.
Please make sure that you follow this link: campaigns.mabelslabels.com, and search for our name (PLAY Community Child Development Centre (Calgary)) so that your purchase goes towards P.L.A.Y.’s fundraising efforts.
Scholastic Book Program
Each order helps earn free books for the daycare as well as bonus coupons. These bonus coupons are used to purchase the books each child receives from Santa at the Christmas concert.
There are two ways to order: 1. Through PLAY, by marking the flyers; 2. By setting up your own online account.
1. Every 2 months throughout the school year we will make available the club flyers. You’ll find award-winning books, as well as old and new favourites. The books span a wide range of children’s reading levels and interests and they are inexpensive (some books cost $1.99).
It is easy to order. Just look over the flyer with your child, select the books you want, mark them on the order form on the back of the flyer, and return the order form with payment in cash or a cheque payable to Scholastic Canada Ltd. by the deadline. The books will arrive in about two weeks once the class order has been placed through to Scholastic.
2. Alternatively, parents can set up an online account with ‘Scholastic Reading Club Canada’ (http://scholastic.ca/) and link their account with “P L A Y Comm Childcare”. While parents can order books at any time, the shipment will not occur until the classroom order is placed. Books will be shipped to PLAY.
