Parent Involvement

Building a sense of belonging and connection among our teachers, students and parents is a fundamental part of PLAY. To help with this, we require that every family volunteers a minimum of 12 hours per year.

There are a variety of ways to contribute from organizing events, to picking up supplies, to our Annual Spring Clean up, and more!

We appreciate that every family has a unique skill set and time demands, and we are happy to work with you to figure out a meaningful way to contribute to the community.

Fundraising

At PLAY, we hold a number of Fundraising events throughout the year to ensure that we can keep our parent fees as low as possible. These include popular events such as our annual Art Auction and Wine Draw, as well as a Casino event through Alberta Gaming that typically occurs every 1-2 years.

Outside of these events, we also have the ongoing fundraising initiatives below. Please take a look and consider supporting these initiatives.

Should you want to make a donation directly to PLAY, we are a registered charity and can provide a receipt upon request.

Looking to support PLAY while ordering some Eco-friendly products (best known for their laundry detergent)? 20% of total sales come back to PLAY and all products are shipped directly to your house.

Each order helps earn free books for the daycare as well as bonus coupons.  These bonus coupons are used to purchase the books each child receives from Santa at the Christmas concert.

Tired of sorting and counting your bottles for refund? We have set up a drop-off account with Vecova Bottle Depot where you can donate your unsorted bottles to PLAY, who receives 100% of the refund!

The process is very easy, but very specific (make sure you follow these steps to ensure that the refund is allocated to PLAY):

Nutrition

At PLAY, the health and nutrition of the children in our care is very important. Children are offered a morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. All of our meals are catered by a local company with over 40 years of experience. Our caterer focuses on fresh, quality, handmade meals. The menu features well-balanced, homestyle cooking that incorporates a variety of flavours and includes a wide variety of healthy snacks and treats. All meals are prepared in an industrial kitchen that is inspected regularly from Alberta Health Services, ensuring that the food is clean, safe and hygienic.
